I imagine the book to be very complex and hidden turns on every page, a very fast pace mystery and emotional, thinking justice is not being done.

The front cover art is black and shades of red, my interpretation of this-before reading the book or blurb, is that there may be a lot of blood shed throughout the book, secrets and uncovering lies beleived to be the uttermost truth throughout. The title does give away a lot of what the book is about – omens, superstition, and signs. The current book I am reading is ‘Omens’ the first book in the mysterious series Cainsville. Although these are very simple, the artist is very good at hiding hidden clues within their art. However, my absolute favourite author Kelley armstong has many inspiring book covers. I have seem some fantastic book covers in my many trips to books shops, and it always stuns me how much a book cover can reveal to you about the story hidden inside. It is the first thing you see when picking up a book, it is the ultimatum of wether or not you want to commit yourself to reading it.

When I decide I need a new book to devour I am immediately drawn to book covers. Unfortunately this book only has few limited addition books still available (complete with an extra two illustrations) and the trade novella will not have any other illustrations. This book cover has been very weel thought of and is the sort to get you itching to start reading! You can see that the bones of dead bodies and blood is consistant in both covers, as that alone would have been enough to start engaging the brain and story telling within your mind. Although this artist uses very limited lines and detailing on the background he has made this book cover standout very much. I am inspired by this particular set of book covers as the blood river from the Human has reflected the wolf as himself and vice versa. Maybe this werewolf doesn’t know what is happening, but the artist has done such a good job with the face detail it is like looking as a human face, instead of a paper one. If you look closely enough on the limited addition cover you can see this man feels defeated, sad, lonely and out of his depth. On the trade cover of the book you can see on both faces of the human and werewolf a burning desire for death, and an anger which is seen in his eyes. Just y looking a the front cover I can tell it is about a werewolf. On the left we have the general trade book cover, and on the right is the limited addition (only very few have been made, but some on hardback are still available!) Both illustrations made by Xaviere Daumarie are very simple but hard hitting at the same time. This is a new novella soon written by the astonishing Kelley armstrong.
